Types of Leaks

Cove Joints

A cove joint is the place in your foundation where your floor and wall meet. As hydrostatic pressure builds up around your foundation, water will seep through the cove joint and into your basement. South Jersey Waterproofing will deal with these with an internal drainage system called the Waterguard or the DryTrak, both of which will drain to a sump pump. The cove joint is most often responsible for basement seepage.

Mortar Joints

Mortar holds the masonry bricks in your foundation together. Often, the mortar will deteriorate and allow water to pass through. South Jersey Dry Basements will help deal with this problem by sealing the concrete directly or using our drainage system and sump pump. We also may find an external drainage solution to keep pressure from building up around your home.

Top of Foundation

If the top of your foundation is below the soil grade in your yard, water can seep over the top of your foundation and into your basement. An exterior barrier can be placed on your wall to prevent it from leaking through. We will preserve your landscaping and make your basement a safe, waterproof place nonetheless.

Floor Cracks

Due to expansion and settlement, the walls and floors in your basement may crack. Once the cracks are there, the hydrostatic pressure will cause your basement to leak. Despite the fact that your basement has cracks, South Jersey has many methods to correct both floor and wall cracks and will help you return your basement to normal.
